We sat down with Ed Yarbrough, Senior Solutions Specialist at our Staunton, Virginia office to get to know him better. Ed gave us his background and why he enjoys being a part of the JustTech team.
Hi, Ed! Thanks for talking with us today. Can you tell us a little bit about your background?
I consider myself to be a DC kid. I grew up in Washington, D.C. and in the church. I graduated from the University of Virginia and then taught special education in an elementary school. Afterward, I managed a sporting goods store. In 1992, I become a Xerox sales representative in the Charlottesville area.
Wow! Sounds like you specialized in many things! What brought you to JustTech?
I was a sales rep for another company and Gary Chrisman who works at JustTech now was my boss. I first heard of JustTech when Gary sold the agency to Josh. Afterward, I was adopted at the Staunton office. I guess I kinda came along with the deal! (laughs)
That’s great history! Who is JustTech to you?
JustTech is really a company with unlimited possibilities. It was founded as a family-oriented company and is now a successful family-owned business. One of the key foundations of the company is that JustTech is all about relationships and that is reflected in how we partner with local customers – it’s not just about sales, it’s about customer support.
As a team member at JustTech, what is your role and what are your main responsibilities?
I am a Senior Solutions Specialist at the Staunton, Virginia office. One of my first responsibilities is to sell, and then to sell even more! Really, it is an emphasis on sales.
Again, along with that comes a family here of customer support to build the relationship with the customer. So it’s not just about sales, but it’s about supporting customers along the way so they have a very positive experience.
What’s your favorite thing about working here?
The fact that I can sell. Even when I was managing the sporting goods store, I was selling to customers. I love the interactions, but also building relationships. I’m able to help customers not only help build their business, but it’s truly beneficial for both sides.
I really like working for Josh because we share a lot of the same ideas and principles – we’re usually on the same page about everything. It’s good to work for somebody that thinks like you do and has the same ethics and heart as he does.
If a company is considering working with JustTech, what would you tell them?
The number one thing that convinces people is the product line we sell (Xerox), but also the customer service that JustTech and Xerox have delivered in the past. I can usually point new customers and prospects to current customers and get recommendations on past experiences.
You’re a hard worker! When you’re off the clock, what do you like to do in your spare time?
When I’m not working and not taking care of my wife or feeding the cat, I workout on a regular basis. I consider myself to be very athletic! I run, lift weights, bike. I’m also very family-oriented and usually doing things with my wife like traveling and going to air shows in the mountains.
