One southern Maryland company has taken the effort a step further. Capitalizing on the basics of the so-called “app economy,” Southern Solutions last year developed its own Contact Us App, a device-level application that lets clients communicate with their service provider while giving the partner unprecedented visibility into the customer’s print use and services needs.

The hosted application lets Southern Solutions’ customers request service and supplies, organize returns and recycling, and provide valuable feedback on the engagement. In turn, Southern Solutions can use the Contact Us App, which appears directly on the display panel of Xerox ConnectKey devices, to communicate with the customer by sharing messages and pictures and even posting comments made on Twitter.
