On May 13th, JustTech supported the 31st Annual Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department John D. Lowe, Jr. Memorial Golf Classic. This event was organized by Jefferson Security Bank. The event was held at Cress Creek Golf and Country Club. Over $100,000 has been raised for Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department from this event through the years.
Founded in 1792, the Shepherdstown Fire Department has served Jefferson County, WV and surrounding regions for over 225 years. The fire station is location in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Each year the amount of training increases, the call volume increases, and the amount of money needed to fund this great organization increases. Yet, these dedicated volunteers continue to do whatever they can to meet their creed: “To Provide Our Best Possible Service, on Our Customers Worse Day.”
A very small percentage of their annual operating costs are covered through State and County proceeds. On average, Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department members spend 100 plus days fundraising each year. A large portion of our annual revenues are generated from these fundraising events including the John D. Lowe Jr. Memorial Golf Classic.
