On September 24, JustTech was proud to support the Henry & William Evans Home for Children during Evening with Evans Home Friends, an event raising funds to support the children and the important work of the Evans Home.
Located in Winchester, Virginia, the Evans Home has been serving children and families for more than 75 years. Since 1949, more than 500 children have called the Evans Home “home.” The organization provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment for children and teens experiencing homelessness, family crises and other challenging circumstances.
The Evans Home’s mission goes far beyond providing a place to live. Its family-style approach focuses on helping young people thrive through educational support, community involvement, life-skills development and opportunities that help prepare them for successful, independent futures. Children are encouraged to attend local schools, participate in extracurricular activities and become active members of the Winchester community.
Community support is critical to making this work possible. The Evans Home relies heavily on donations and community partners to provide resources and opportunities for the children it serves. According to the organization, 92 cents of every donated dollar directly supports its children.
