Xerox recently released a software update for the AltaLink 8200 series devices and the new VersaLink A4 devices. The software update advances the user experience putting common information screens and instructions for toner recycling right on the home screen and adds stronger security options.

Updates include:

  • Quick Access Button: Enables access to essential information screens to check supplies, paper tray status and notifications with a single tap.
  • Toner recycling reminder:  Displays a QR code and message with information on recycling empty toner when replacing depleted cartridges.
  • Comprehensive security:
    • Supports Personal Identify Verification tokens widely used across government agencies as a trusted and secure form of identification.
    • Certified compliance with the EU Radio Equipment Directive required for wireless enabled devices.

Below is an image of the Quick Access Button. Simply click the 3 dots at the top of the main screen and a small menu pops up with selections for Supplies, Paper Trays, Notifications, Accessibility and About. Clicking any of these will take you straight to their respective menus as if you navigated through the device user interface and found them.
