On September 1, JustTech brought together its regional sales, technical service, and Helpdesk teams for hands-on training focused on the new Lexmark Powered by Xerox 9 Series multifunction printers. Training sessions were held in each JustTech office, giving team members an opportunity to get familiar with the new technology before installations begin with clients.
The sessions were led by JustTech’s Xerox Analysts—the same professionals responsible for installing equipment and providing personalized end-user training for JustTech clients. The goal was to give the broader JustTech team a deeper understanding of the new devices, from everyday operation to the features and procedures clients will encounter after installation.
Hands-On Training with the New 9 Series
During the sessions, JustTech’s Xerox Analysts demonstrated how easy it is to operate and maintain the new devices. Team members received hands-on instruction covering the control panel and common workflows, replacing supplies, loading paper, clearing paper jams, and understanding the paper path through the machine.
The training closely followed the same comprehensive guidelines JustTech Analysts use when educating clients during an office multifunction printer installation. These guidelines include demonstrating proper paper and document loading, jam-clearance procedures, replacement of customer-replaceable units such as toner and drums, finisher operation, control-panel workflows, print-driver functionality, and proper shutdown procedures.
The team also reviewed several features and procedures specific to the new Lexmark Powered by Xerox devices. For example, the three color drums are replaced together while the black drum is replaced independently, and toner locks prevent toner from being replaced prematurely under normal circumstances.
JustTech’s Analysts also walked through the user interface, including copy, email, and scanning workflows, as well as how clients can locate their serial number and view device meters. The team discussed differences clients may notice on the new platform, including the Scan to Email workflow and the use of the Xerox serial number for the devices.
Preparing Our Teams to Deliver a Great Client Experience
The sessions generated robust discussion among JustTech’s sales, service, Helpdesk, and Analyst teams. Having multiple departments together allowed team members to ask questions, share observations, and better understand both the technology and the client experience surrounding these new devices.
Xerox sponsored the September 1 training event and provided pizza for the JustTech teams at each location, adding a great lunch to a productive day of learning, collaboration, and hands-on experience with the newest Xerox technology.
For JustTech, training goes beyond simply learning the specifications of a new product. Our goal is to make sure the teams selling, supporting, servicing, installing, and training clients on new technology understand how it works in the real world.
Following the September 1 training sessions, the JustTech team is excited and prepared to begin delivering the new Lexmark Powered by Xerox 9 Series to clients throughout our regions.
New technology. Hands-on training. Great teamwork. And, thanks to Xerox, plenty of pizza!
