JustTech is providing information on support resources for small businesses and non-profits in our communities.  COVID-19 is affecting many organizations and by working together, we will rise!  As everyone’s situation is different, please contact your accountant, financial planner or legal counsel to determine eligibility.

Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)

Congress passed and the President signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) which applies to companies with less than 500 employees. The company is entitled to borrow an amount equal to its average monthly payroll over the twelve months preceding the making of the loan multiplied by 2.5, up to a maximum of $10,000,000.  This is handled by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in coordination with banks.
The loan may be forgiven if certain costs (payroll, rent and utilities) during the 8 week period equal the original loan amount. Forgiven loan amounts will not be included in the borrower’s taxable income.
For more information and to determine eligibility, contact your local bank representative.

Business Interruption Insurance

If your business is affected by the coronavirus and you have Business Interruption Insurance, you may be eligible for coverage.  Every insurance plan is different and your insurance company will determine whether or not you are eligible based on your situation and your specific insurance plan.
