It has been one year since I called an impromptu meeting with team members across our 6 regions and delivered our first of many covid update meetings. During the meeting, I urged everyone to be cautious and calm and urged everyone to do their part to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. I shared I thought this would be mostly gone in the coming weeks and months and that my family would still be going to Disney World in a couple months. Little did I (or most others) know what laid ahead.
The coronavirus quickly consumed most of my attention and navigating through became my #1 goal. We launched a site on our webpage to give clients updates and information on our response. JustTech developed protocols for team members to wear masks and take extra precaution when responding to clients’ onsite technical service and IT support incidents. Our clients are in many different types of industries including financial, government and healthcare. The work we do is essential and most of our clients are considered “Essential” as well. For essential team members in the offices, we required masks be worn in all public spaces and encouraged frequent sanitizing of hands. Other team members worked remotely to reduce the number of team members in our offices.
While the health and safety of our team members, clients and families was my number 1 goal, I also focused on financial support for our clients. We have over 3,000 clients and we want everyone to make it through this pandemic. JustTech increased communication with our clients and business community on steps taken to confront new challenges and also shared information on local and federal financial assistance available to businesses.
JustTech shifted marketing dollars and purchased tens of thousands of social distance floor graphics to encourage social distancing, JustTech donated these to local businesses, schools & non-profits so they could reopen safely and help reduce the spread of Covid-19.
Over the last year, JustTech has welcomed many new Managed IT clients who needed extra support with enabling a virtual workforce and connecting remotely to access and share information. JustTech also has installed many affordable desktop multifunction devices at homes and virtual workplaces so clients can print & scan while working in a remote setting.
The last year has been challenging and we do see light at the end of the tunnel with vaccines being distributed and case numbers down. We recently released a new video: Forward, Stronger & Together that showcases our journey over the last year and summarizes where we feel we are in this journey. We still need to be consistent in wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
Over the last year we have been stressed, have cried, have been confused, have been sad, have grieved, have formed better relationships with neighbors, have looked for moments to smile and laugh, have homeschooled children, have searched for masks and toilet paper and have kept moving forward. For most of us, it has certainly been the longest year ever and I am blessed to have had the support from incredible family, talented team members and loyal clients as we navigated through and continue to navigate through the coronavirus.
