With hybrid work becoming the new normal and cyber threats increasing, we are seeing a rapid increase in requests from clients to transition completely to the cloud. Some programs may be able to be transitioned to a cloud service offering by the software provider and accessed via web portal, eliminating the need for these programs to be stored on local devices. Previously, clients had a mail server to host their company’s email, documents and primary shared applications. Recently from working with clients, we have found many clients do not need an onsite server and by moving email to Office 365 and the primary shared applications to a JustTech secure server in the cloud, the onsite server may be eliminated. Documents on individual laptops and computers may be synched to the cloud server with a VPN (Virtual Private Network). A VPN is commonly used and extends a private network across a public network, and enables users to securely send and receive data across shared or public networks just as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network. During the Covid-19 global pandemic, we have received many requests from existing and new clients to establish secure VPN connections so that work can continue from wherever a user may be.
